has announced that an initiative started by a group of Hyundai dealerships in the
New England area to help research pediatric cancer, has completed 10 years. Back in
1998, these local dealers started a small way of helping raise funds for the Jimmy
Fund at Boston’s Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. The number of Hyundai dealerships all
over the country involved in this effort is now over 800, with Manly Hyundai being
one of them.

This group founded the Hyundai Hope on Wheels, in 2004. This year, this organization
was recognized as an independent 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization. As of now, it
has donated over $10 million to institutions all over the country towards helping
children with cancer fight the disease.

Well-known cancer specialists such as Dr. Leonard Sender, Dr. David Poplack and Dr.
Dan Wechsler serve on the Medical Advisory Board for Hope on Wheels.

This 10th anniversary celebration will have a Hope on Wheels Tour, which will visit
32 institutions nationwide and donate $1.6 million in support of higher study and
further training of some doctors who are involved in pediatric cancer research. Such
doctors will be called Hope on Wheels Scholars.

Hyundai, with contributions from its dealers, has donated six Hyundai Santa Fe
vehicles to a few children’s hospitals.

The Hope on Wheels Tour will begin its schedule by holding ceremonial donation
events at 32 pediatric cancer research institutions and 30 local Light The Night
Walks. These events will be implemented throughout the country in summer and fall.
At all of these events, the children’s lives and their treatment will be captured by
pasting their color-filled handprints on a 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe vehicle.

Hope on Wheels and Hyundai dealers will also extend this program to support The
Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s pediatric cancer research programs during the 10th
anniversary celebration.
